Thank you to all those patients that took the time to complete a survey. The results are in and a copy can be obtained from reception. Going on from last year’s results, again we scored 100% when asked if patients would recommend us to their friends or family. Positive comments included “Good level of care”, “Friendly and welcoming”, “Excellent treatment”, “Convenient”.
It was a gruelling course with 11 miles of cross country running, ditches full of mud, ice baths, 10 foot walls, and electrocution! But Richard and Nick both survived the course with only cuts and bruises and in the process raised money for ‘Martin House Children’s Hospice’ in Wetherby.
If you have visited the practice recently you may have noticed some new faces amongst the nursing staff. Avril Meadley has left to go on maternity leave and we have Dona Bristow covering her absence. Laura Waring has left us to study Dental Hygiene at Sheffield University and Elisa Addison replaces her. Both Dona and Elisa are very experienced dental nurses.
Richard and Nick both competed in this years ‘Yorkshire Warrior’ held at Rudding Park, Harrogate. This event was a 10 mile, multi-terrain, multi-obstacle run. Richard and Nick both completed the race in respectable times and raised money for ‘Martin House Children’s Hospice’ in Wetherby. Their next obstacle race is ‘Tough Mudder’ at Skipton in August!
Over the past year we’ve made a few changes to the practice. Some you may have noticed and some you may have not. The main change was the name, we are now called ‘RF Dental Care’ and are operating as a partnership with Richard and Nick as joint owners of the business.
We’ve altered the design of appointment cards and placed new signage up inside and outside the practice. Our working ethos has not changed and Richard and Nick will continue to see their own patients and provide them with quality dental care at all times.
We have modernised our decontamination room, which now houses a washer-disinfector, vacuum autoclave and instrument storage. These changes allow us to operate an efficient decontamination room to ensure that all our instruments are cleaned and sterilised effectively.
Early this year we decided to change the nursing uniform and opted for a bright aqua marine, collared tunic.
All of our dental nurses love the new uniform and it really brightens the practice up. Many patients have already commented on how they like the new colour and style of the uniforms.
The new practice website went live on Friday 10th May after many hours of hard work by Nick and Tom Pratt at ‘Uploaded Design’. Many thanks to Tom who worked tirelessly at creating a unique and individual site that portrays our practice through its design and branding.
Please navigate your way around the website as it describes all of the dental services that we can offer and has some downloads that you may find useful.
If you prefer to use email to contact the practice then please use the ‘contact form‘ on the website and we will respond to your question, query or feedback, as soon as possible. Please don’t include any sensitive information, as no emails are fully secure!
If you have visited the practice recently you may have noticed some new artwork that has been put up in the waiting room and corridor down to Nick’s surgery. These are a selection of black and white photos taken by Nick of various local and national landmarks. The locations include ‘Hackfall Forest’ & ‘Edinburgh Old Town’. See if you recognise any!
Toothpaste samples from Oral B and Colgate have arrived in the practice. There are tubs of samples in each surgery and at reception. Please grab a sample of either and try Oral B’s new toothpaste formulation. Why not Have Your Say? and send the practice your feedback – so far patients are saying that they either love the taste or hate it!
The samples are an ideal size to fit in a toilet or wash bag so are great for travelling! We have boxes of these samples, so please don’t be shy and collect a sample when you are next in the practice.
