Dental Hygiene Appointments

We can provide dental hygiene appointments at the practice and have a vast experience in treating periodontal disease (gum disease).

We can arrange one-off hygiene appointments or schedule regular periodontal treatments to maintain your gum health.

Professional Teeth Cleaning For A Healthy Mouth and Smile!

Regular professional tooth cleaning combined with looking after your teeth and gums well at home will keep your mouth healthy. A clean and healthy mouth will improve your appearance, your confidence and give you fresh breath.

Scaling and Polishing Teeth

Scaling and polishing is usually pain free, however we may sometimes use local anaesthetic if we need to do any cleaning under the ‘gum line’. This may be the case if you are suffering with ‘periodontal disease’, also known as gum disease.

Prevent Periodontal Gum Disease

At RF Dental Care we always provide preventative advice to our patients with periodontal disease including demonstrations of;

  • * Brushing techniques to help fight periodontal disease.
  • * How to use interdental brushes.
  • * Flossing techniques.
  • * Advice on antibacterial mouth rinses.

We may recommend that you attend every 3 months for your examination and a ‘scaling’ to help maintain your gum health and stabilise any periodontal disease.

Periodontal Gum Disease Treatment

We can formulate a preventative and supportive treatment plan to aid you in the treatment and management of periodontal disease. This may include deep scaling over several visits with the use of local anaesthetic. Sometimes we may use antibiotic gels which can be applied between the tooth and gum as an adjunct to scaling.
